2-4-06 Hi Linda, you've got a good start here. -demetri

Linda, I love your chapter! The only thing that I wanted to suggest was to include some science software but after reaing the previous response I see that you have been given some good suggestions that will work with the 2nd grade curriculum. I love how everything is organized, neat, and so easy to read for any reader! Do have any suggestions for me? I really like the layout of your chapter and would be greatful if you could give me some ideas. Awesome job! --Aimee 3-24-06
3/24/06 Linda, it looks like you are off to a really good start with your page and have included lots of great information. i have two suggestions for your page. First off, I think you should consider moving your examples of technology integration onto your first page as opposed to having to view it via a link. I think that this is the primary reason why people will be viewing your page and it contains alot of good information but people may miss it, if its not front and center. Second -- although I am not a elementary school teacher I feel as though one of the biggest barriers to integrating technology into the second grade classroom would be teaching students how to use the hardware itself. At that age, this may be the first time a child uses a computer. I would suggest adding something concerning this to your 'barriers' section and then provide strategies you have used to overcome this. Good luck finishing up. ~ Matt
3-25-06 Hi Linda, I've posted my feedback for you as an audio file: Linda's Feedback From Demetri. Please be aware it's a fairly large (1.3 Mb) mp3 audio file, so it may take awhile to download, and you need an audio player to listen to it, such as Windows Media Player or QuickTime installed. If you have any problems or questions, please contact me. Thanks, Demetri
3-25-06 Linda, I wish I could give your some definite resources to include on your site, but I teach middle school and therefore don't have whole lot of specific ideas. I did have a suggestion on the format and was wondering if it would be easier to organize each of the topics by subject area like Ammie did. That way you could be directed to a seperate page for math, social studies, reading, and science and all of the seperate topics (ie. software, websites, ways to integrate technology) could be listed under each of those new pages. It might make it easier to navigate. You have definietly done an impressive job and I think the grade level educators have it much harder because you are covering several subject and not just one. Great job on your site. Keep up the great work.
